The Hive Enterprise Centre is best placed to support the local business community of Southend City.

The Hive first opened its doors in June 2015 and has been an established business hub ever since. A not-for-profit, social enterprise offering workspace and business support to the local and regional enterprise community.

We offer flexible ‘easy-in, easy-out’ occupancy terms for serviced office space and a range of co-working and hot desk options for local business professionals from a range of industries. All wrapped up in one fully inclusive bill with no tie-in costs, leases, or utility bills to worry about.

Conveniently located on Victoria Avenue, The Hive has strong transport links from the surrounding areas and into London as well as internationally via London Southend Airport. Housed in The Old Central Library, above The Beecroft Art Gallery, our iconic 1970’s Brutalist building was a visionary example of the classic architecture of the time, offering a creative, inspiring, and unique workspace for your business.

The Hive benefits from on-site meeting room facilities, a main lounge area and smaller break out zones for our members and external customers to utilise. High-speed internet, high-definition video conferencing, inclusive telephony as well as the usual office amenities expected in a modern workspace all come as standard.

Base your business from The Hive and use our address as your business correspondence address. Also, our front of house staff offers a full reception service for your Organisation and ensure the smooth running of the Centre as well as providing a friendly face each time you walk into work.

Offering you a welcoming co-working community, The Hive thrives on growing businesses but more than that we support and encourage businesses to collaborate, we’re more than just an ecosystem, we are a SMEcosystem.

MARK KASS - FOUNDER & CEO

Mark’s career is built on working for, as and with start-ups since he left college at the end of the last century. This has made sure entrepreneurship and small business survival and growth is firmly ingrained in his DNA and in all businesses he works with.

He worked for one of the UK’s oldest enterprise agencies where he directed business support operations in East London and subsequently became a Small Business Ambassador for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Having spent a stint working for a couple of large corporates as their in house “social entrepreneur” and starting up and handing over one of East London’s premier enterprise centres in partnership with local authority, Mark launched our parent company Enterprise4Good, as a not-for-profit social enterprise, in late 2014.
